Dargaard became a great legend in the Dark Ambiant scene, maybe one of the most famous band actually, what do you think about it when you remember the early years?

, actually i don..t think about that this way, there were and are other great bands around in this style aswell. The early days, the beginning of Dargaard was actually great luck, because i simply recorded material, searched for a singer afterwards and for a deal even after that. and it worked, so this was great luck for me.
Is Dargaard a project to cope from your Black Metal image?
->Dargaard is not only a project, such as Dominion III, for me it..s a real band(even though we are not playing live). Besides that i don..t think i have to cope my black metal image, haha.
in fact we..re still active with Amestigon and will release something new soon i hope, so no need for that. it..s simply because i..m listening to a lot styles of music and wanted to do somthing different, where i..m independent, to stay flexible and to move forward with my "musical personality" i would call it;)
If you had to change something in the Underground Scene and in the Business with music, what would you do?
->underground scene - no idea
business - declare labels officially as dead and promote your music independently. but somthing like that is already on the move, so let..s see what the future brings.
We didnt have news for a long time about your projects. Can you tell us a bit more about the upcoming Dargaard release
?
->yes of course, but i only finished 4 songs up to now.
i guess we..ll have a topic which will lead through the album again, i simply like albums with a red thread leading through it, even though it..s not obviously all the time.
besides that i do not intend to change Dargaard..s style that much, maybe make the compositions more varied on the one hand an more ambient and dark on the other hand.
how the new Dargaard album will sound is not fixed for me yet, and Elisabeth will again take her part in evoultion of the mood of the whole album. surely it..ll take some more time to get the album completely done, that..s the admission i have to make with my job - time is precious...
I'd like to know how and where do you take your inspiration from?
->from books, movie scores, everything i listen to. simply everything i guess.
Talking about inspiration, I am actually a huge fan of Dargaard, which is a great influence for me, and i'm sure for a lot of musicians. Did you imagined at the beginning that you will become a big source of inspiration?
->ha, no of course not, i started Dargaard like "ok sounds great, let..s give it a try" and it worked, but thanks - i..m proud of it!
i hope this genre will bring many good bands into the public, including yours.
You are said to be a great fan of Dragonlance, and as you told to the fans through your website, your music is featured in the upcoming Dragonlance movie... How do you feel about it? Are you proud?
->at first i have to correct that, it..s not in the score, the score is made by a professional composer on hollywood level;)
we are just featured as band which is inspired by dragonlance. but it..s a huge honor for us to be featured there and i wish the crew all the best(even though i had voted for a real motion picture, not a animated one which it finally got)
For a last question, I'd like to know if you can tell us a bit more about your side projects.
->with Amestgon which is black metal and already exists for around 12 years we are going to record a new album this winter. it will differ a bit from the previous releases, means we are slightly letting some other influences flow into the music. as far as i can tell you now it will be a great album!
with Dominion III i basically have the material for an album ready, but i did not find the time to record it and search for a label or other possibilities to release the music yet. i hope to do this after the amestigon release.
