What do you think about these 3 great bands, masterminded by Protector (Ricard Lederer)? I am really excited to listen to the upcoming Ice Ages (EBM, sounding a bit like Dominion 3) I myself LOVE Summoning very very much, and it remains one of my favourite bands. Anyway, Protector is a guest in a bonus track on our second Dementia Ad Vitam album that might be released end-2008! (That's the first time that I reaveal this "scoop" after Kogaionon.com!!! Maybe i should reveal other great scoops about that album hehehehe !!!)

Oh d**n, you beat me to it! You made a post about Summoning before I did I LOVE Summoning. Was just listening to them. 'Runes of Power' speaks to me deeply. I'm ordering a few Summoning things from NapalmRecords.com (t-shirt, albums) can't wait til I get ahold of them xD Anywayyyy Die Verbannten Kinder Evas is amazing as well. But I haven't listened to much of Ice Ages. DVKE is probably the band I like most out of these three. And congradulations on your second album! I'm sure you are honored to have Protector being a guest in the album. I'm looking forward to it!

He played Darbuka ! So amazing how it turns out, he's just a great player, he told me that Darburka is not really common in Austria, so i'd say he's the greatest player out there hehehe

I've got a couple of the DVKE albums, and I do like the music quite a bit. But I originally listened to DVKE because a few people online told me it was similar to Dargaard, and I just don't think it's that close. The darkness of it may be similar, and the dreary serenity in a way, but the styles are vastly different, both musically and vocally.
I've only listened to one clip of Ice Ages, and it sounded promising. I've listened to a few Summoning clips too, but it's not quite my style I guess.
I will say that I liked DVKE's newest album (Dusk and Void Became Alive) better than the older stuff. So hopefully the next one down the road will be even better.
But now I have to look up more about your band; I haven't heard Dementia Ad Vitam yet. Congrats on the new album though!

Where to even begin? - utterly timeless music, equipped with atmospheric sensibilities and dynamics that eclipse 95% of the music out there. Summoning is the only metal artist to have captured the atmosphere of Tolkien's immortal tales accurately (though I say this, of course, regarding only my interpretation and reaction to them), capturing all-at-once the grandeur, beauty, darkness and melancholy of the stories which is, needless to say, no easy feat. EASILY one of my favorite bands, ever.
I enjoy Die Verbannten Kinder Evas quite a bit too, all four of the albums, with Come Heavy Sleep perhaps being my favorite.
Ice Ages is good through, regarding my own personal tastes, I don't quite care for it (which is mostly due to my lack of taste when it comes to the electronic music genres).

I 100% agree with Oakenson, his opinion about Summoning is totally the same as mine, but I couldn't write it down as perfectly as he did. By the way, in my opinion, Rise and Fall captures perfectly the atmosphere of the Dragonlance universe
